iPhone: plug in and record
Plug your iPhone into your Mac and record it like any other screen, then set it in a device frame on a background you choose. You place each camera move yourself, exactly where you want it.

The webcam

Your webcam records to its own track, so its shape, placement, background and outline can all be refined after the take, without re‑recording a second.

Switch the aspect ratio and the background, recording and webcam fall into place on their own. Drag an edge and everything extra is cropped away. Add a mask, and the key detail lights up, small text is magnified and anything private is pixelated.

Give the cursor a new look, and every click a burst of light and sound. The shortcuts you press appear on screen, one by one. Pull the timeline out to see the whole take, push in to work on a detail, and cut wherever it drags. Give any stretch a camera layout, and your webcam goes full screen, hides or moves.
Every click, seen and heard
The cursor records on a layer of its own, so you can restyle it after the take: 32 styles across System, Arrow, Gestures and More, and a size big enough to read on a phone. A click can flash, spread a ring or burst into fireworks, with a tap, crisp or mechanical sound. It can hide when it stops, and the small shakes of your hand are smoothed away.
Shortcuts your viewers can follow
The shortcuts you press pop up as keycaps, while ordinary typing stays off screen. Set the text colour, background, opacity, size and position, and the preview shows each change as you make it.
Zoom in, speed through, cut clean
Stretch the timeline from the whole take down to a couple of seconds. Skim the preview fast or slow it down to check a move. The scissors cut right where you click, and if a cut was wrong, tap the pin on the seam to join the pieces back.
Your face, right on cue
Open full screen to say hello, step back to a corner for the walkthrough, and hide for the parts you'd rather not be in. Click the timeline to add a layout; the webcam grows, fades or glides into its new place.

Teleprompter
Your script scrolls at the speed you set, with a reading line marking your place, and the teleprompter itself never appears in the recording.
System-wide hotkeys
Start, pause or stop recording from whichever app you're in. Choose your own combinations, and you're warned if one clashes.
One app's sound
Record the system sound of only the app you pick. Its audio comes through, while alerts from other apps and music playing in the background stay out of the take.
Backgrounds
Built-in wallpapers, solid colours or a picture of your own, with padding, rounded corners, shadow and background blur a slider away.
Motion blur
Zooms, pans and the cursor each carry their own blur, as strong or as subtle as you like, so every move reads like film.
Style presets
Save the whole look (background, cursor, webcam) as a preset and apply it in one click. Make it the default and new recordings start with it.
Export and share
Export video at up to 4K, or a GIF, then send it straight from the macOS share menu, to a colleague or by AirDrop to your phone.
Raw tracks
Export the screen, webcam, microphone and system audio as separate files, and carry on in any other editor.
All on your Mac
Recording, editing and export all happen locally. Your recordings never pass through a server, and there's no account to create.

Record it
Pick a full screen, a window, a region or a plugged-in iPhone, and switch on the webcam, mic and system audio you want, each on its own track. A three-second countdown starts the take, and the floating bar that pauses and stops it never appears in the recording.
Step 02
Watch it
The editor opens the moment you stop, with the camera moves already built from your clicks. Watch it once: switch a move to 2D, cut a slow stretch, change the background or the webcam, or leave it as it is and move on.
Step 03
Send it
From one project, export a 4K video for your site and a GIF for the group chat, then send either one straight from the macOS share menu: AirDrop, Mail or Messages.

Before you ask.
What does ScreenFlowy actually do to my recording?
While you record, ScreenFlowy also notes where the cursor is and every click. When you stop, it turns those clicks into camera moves: a push-in on what you clicked, a follow when the cursor travels, a pull-back to the full view when you stop interacting, in 3D, in 2D or not at all. The cursor loses its jitter and is redrawn at a legible size, and the whole frame sits on a background you choose.
Your webcam records to its own track, so you can style it after the take. Lift yourself out of the room without a green screen, then blur what's behind you or swap it for a built-in backdrop or an image of your own; turn on Portrait and Studio Light to soften the background and light your face; change its shape, position, size, corners and outline whenever you like. For any stretch, add a camera layout to put yourself full screen, move to another spot or step out of frame.
The camera moves and camera layouts all sit on the timeline, where their position, length and style can be changed at any time.
Can I record my iPhone?
Yes. Connect your iPhone to your Mac with a USB cable, tap Trust This Computer and unlock it, and it appears in the device list with its screen mirrored live; then record it like any other screen. Afterwards you can set it in a device frame on a background of your choice. Keep the iPhone unlocked while you record: if its screen goes to sleep, the mirroring stops.
What are the system requirements?
macOS 14 or later on an Apple silicon Mac. ScreenFlowy uses ScreenCaptureKit and the media engines in Apple silicon for recording and export, so Intel Macs and earlier versions of macOS are not supported.
macOS asks for Screen Recording permission the first time you record, and for Camera and Microphone permission when you turn them on. Input Monitoring is needed only for the keystroke display: without it you can still record, and the click-driven camera moves and cursor effects work as usual.
Can I record just one window, or a region?
Yes: a whole display, a single window, or a region you draw. When drawing a region you can pick 16:9, 1:1, 4:3 or 9:16, type an exact size and position in pixels, and save the sizes you use most. ScreenFlowy's own windows, from the recording bar to the teleprompter, never appear in the capture.
Can I record my webcam and my voice at the same time?
Yes. The webcam records as its own video track, so you can move, resize and reshape it afterwards, and replace the room behind you without a green screen. Microphone and system audio are each recorded to their own track as well. Cut a stretch of video and its sound goes with it, so picture and audio stay in sync; to work on the sound itself, export each track as a raw file and take it into any audio editor.
What can I export?
MP4 (H.264 or HEVC) at up to 4K and 60 fps, or an animated GIF. Resolution, frame rate and quality are set per export and the project stays intact, so one project can give you several versions: a 4K video for your site and a GIF for the group chat. If you need them, the screen, webcam, microphone and system audio can also be exported as separate raw files.
Where do my recordings go? Is anything uploaded?
Nothing is uploaded. Recording, editing and export all happen on your Mac, and your projects and exports are written to disk wherever you put them. No account is required to use the app. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
What's the difference between ScreenFlowy and ScreenFlowy Snap?
ScreenFlowy records and edits video. ScreenFlowy Snap is a separate, smaller app for still screenshots: it lives in the menu bar, captures on a hotkey, and gives you backgrounds, annotation and redaction without opening a project. They are two apps; you can use either on its own.
Is it free? What do I pay for?
It’s a free download, and every recording and editing feature is included. Video exports at 480p and 720p are free forever, with no watermark. For 1080p, 2K, 4K, original-size and GIF exports, unlock Pro once: a one-time purchase that is yours for good, not a subscription.
