How to take a scrolling screenshot on Mac

Step by step

1. 01

   Start a scrolling capture

   Click Snap’s icon in the menu bar and choose Scrolling Capture. To start it from the keyboard next time, give it a shortcut in the Hotkey section of Settings….

   Select the area that scrolls

   Drag over the part of the window that scrolls: the page, the conversation or the document itself. Press Esc to cancel.

   Scroll

   Scroll through it at your own pace, with your mouse or trackpad, or by clicking Scroll down. A live preview beside the area shows the image growing.

4. 04

   Finish

   Press Return or click Done. The tall image opens in the editor, ready to style, mark up or redact.

   Save or share it

   Press ⌘S to save it to the ScreenFlowy Snap folder in your Pictures folder, ⌘C to copy it, or drag it from Drag Me straight into an email or a chat.

Sticky headers and moving content

Bars that stay put while the page scrolls, such as a site’s header or a chat’s title bar, appear once instead of repeating down the image. Videos and animations playing on the page don’t throw the stitching off.
