How to watermark a screenshot and resize it for social media in one click
Screenshots get passed around, and a signature keeps your name on them. ScreenFlowy Snap adds a text watermark of your own to the corner of the image. Posting to social media? One click switches to the size that network recommends, with the screenshot whole and centred, never stretched or cropped. Save the combinations you use often as presets and apply them next time.

Step by step
-
Take a screenshot
Press ⇧⌘A and drag over an area, or press ⇧⌘E for a window. The screenshot opens in the editor.
-
Add the watermark
Under Watermark Text on the right, tick Show watermark text, then change the text to your name, handle or web address. It starts out as © ScreenFlowy Snap.
-
See where it goes
The watermark is white bold text, set on the background just below the screenshot’s bottom-right corner, and it scales with the image. When Padding is too small to fit it below, it moves inside the screenshot’s bottom-right corner. The exported image looks exactly as it does in the editor.
-
Switch to a social media size
Under Ratio / Size, click a social network and the canvas changes to the size it recommends; hover over the button to see the exact pixels. The screenshot stays as it is, whole and centred, never stretched or cropped, and the background fills the rest. Ratios such as 1:1, 4:3, 16:9 and 9:16 are there too.
-
Save it as a preset
In the preset menu at the top, choose New Preset…, give it a name and click Done: the background, padding, corners, shadow, size and watermark are saved together. Choose that preset after your next screenshot and the whole look is applied at once.
-
Save or share it
Choose PNG, JPEG or WEBP in the bottom bar, then press ⌘S to save or ⌘C to copy, or drag the finished image from Drag Me straight into a chat, an email or a document.
Size and sharpness
A social media size is a minimum: when the screenshot itself is larger, the canvas grows in the same proportions, so the screenshot keeps its full sharpness and is never scaled down.
Is the watermark remembered?
While Snap stays open, the watermark carries over to your next screenshot, and an image reopened from History comes back with the watermark it had. After you quit and reopen Snap, the watermark starts out off again; to sign every screenshot, save it in a preset.
